Tarun Chugh Says Public Has Rejected Arrogance, Reaffirmed Faith in Modi–Nitish Leadership

In a sharp political attack, BJP’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday said that the public has delivered a strong message against those who, according to him, were “dancing with arrogance” and had “even released the list of oath-takers” before the results. Speaking in Delhi, Chugh said the electorate has decisively rejected what he described as “bullying, jungle raj, and mafia raj.”

Chugh emphasized that the mandate reflects the people’s desire for stability, governance, and accountability. He argued that the opposition had acted with overconfidence and disconnected itself from ground realities, which ultimately led to its “punishment by the public.”

“The public has punished arrogance and blessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,” Chugh said, crediting the NDA leadership for maintaining public trust. He noted that voters have shown confidence in development-oriented governance and the alliance’s commitment to law and order.

While Chugh did not name specific parties, his remarks were widely interpreted as a response to political rivals who had prematurely declared their intent to form the government. He stated that such actions reflect a disregard for democratic processes and the electorate’s wisdom.

Chugh reiterated that the BJP and its allies would continue to prioritize good governance, development, and security. He added that the latest political developments demonstrate that voters value humility and performance over rhetoric and entitlement.

The BJP leader concluded that the people’s verdict sends a clear message: governance rooted in public service will always triumph over political arrogance.
