The New Delhi district administration has established a dedicated control room to ensure the smooth, coordinated, and error-free execution of house-listing operations as part of the ongoing Census-related preparatory exercise.

According to officials, the move is aimed at strengthening real-time monitoring, faster coordination, and immediate issue resolution during the large-scale data collection drive.

The newly set-up control room will function as a centralised command and support hub, allowing officials to closely track field-level activities and respond swiftly to operational challenges faced by enumerators on the ground.

Authorities have stated that the facility will significantly improve inter-departmental coordination, ensuring that communication between field staff and administrative officers remains seamless throughout the exercise.

A key feature of the system is its ability to provide prompt assistance, including police support whenever required, to maintain order and security during the house-to-house verification process.

Officials further noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s focus on efficient planning, better supervision, and timely response mechanisms, which are essential for the successful completion of the Census house-listing work.

The house-listing exercise is a crucial preparatory step for the Census process, involving door-to-door verification and systematic mapping of households across the district, which will form the foundation for accurate population data collection.
