GRAP-III Revoked in Delhi, Restrictions Eased; Only GRAP-II Now in Force: Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa

New Delhi | In a significant relief for residents, businesses, and institutions across the national capital, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday announced the withdrawal of GRAP-III (Graded Response Action Plan Stage-III) restrictions. The decision comes following a noticeable improvement in air quality levels, prompting authorities to ease several curbs that were imposed during the severe pollution phase.

Addressing the media, Sirsa confirmed that GRAP-III is no longer applicable, and the city will now function under the guidelines of GRAP-II, which are comparatively less restrictive. He stated, “GRAP-III has been withdrawn. Now, only GRAP-II restrictions will be applicable to Delhi. The restrictions on hybrid schools have also been lifted. The 50% home restrictions have also been lifted.”

The revocation includes lifting curbs on hybrid teaching modes, allowing schools to return to standard operations. Additionally, the earlier directive encouraging 50% work-from-home for certain sectors has been rolled back, enabling offices to operate at full capacity once again.

Sirsa further clarified that construction activities—one of the most heavily regulated sectors under GRAP-III—will now follow only GRAP-II norms. This adjustment is expected to give momentum to halted development projects while maintaining essential pollution-control safeguards.

The minister reiterated that authorities will continue monitoring air quality closely and that GRAP measures may be escalated again if pollution levels worsen. For now, however, Delhi residents can expect fewer disruptions in daily life as the city transitions back to moderate-level precautionary protocols.

The easing of restrictions has been welcomed by students, workers, and the construction industry, all of whom faced significant operational challenges during the GRAP-III period.
