Union Minister Piyush Goyal Slams Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Alleged Flip-Flops on Political Alliances

In a recent statement, Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his purported remark regarding his relationship with the Congress party. Goyal accused Kejriwal of inconsistency in his statements and alliances over the past decade, labeling his political maneuvers as erratic and opportunistic.

Goyal's remarks came in response to Kejriwal's reported comment about not being in a "permanent marriage" with the Congress party. The Union Minister seized the opportunity to criticize Kejriwal's track record, alleging that the Delhi CM has a history of changing statements and alliances frequently.

Highlighting the recent formation of the INDI alliance, which includes the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goyal portrayed it merely as a tactical seat adjustment rather than a genuine coalition. He emphasized the apparent contradictions within the AAP-Congress relationship, pointing out instances where the two parties collaborate in some regions while engaging in bitter verbal spats in others.

Goyal cited the example of Chandigarh, where AAP and Congress have formed an alliance, juxtaposed with the hostile exchanges between the two parties in Punjab. He also raised questions about the commitment of individuals like Manish Tewari towards voting, hinting at a lack of cohesion within the opposition ranks.

Accusing Kejriwal of habitual falsehoods, Goyal remarked, "Kejriwal is an expert in lying consistently and he changes statements every day." He attributed the perceived instability within the AAP to what he described as an "army of corrupt people," suggesting that their tenure in power would inevitably be short-lived.

The Union Minister's comments underscore the deep-seated animosity between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition AAP, while also highlighting the fractured nature of alliances within the Indian political landscape. Goyal's criticism reflects the BJP's strategy of portraying itself as a stable and principled alternative to what it perceives as the opportunistic politics of its rivals.

As the political rhetoric intensifies ahead of crucial state elections, such confrontations between key leaders are likely to become more frequent, shaping the contours of the electoral battleground. Kejriwal and the AAP are expected to respond to Goyal's allegations in due course, setting the stage for a heated exchange of accusations and counter-accusations in the run-up to the polls.
