Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Questions Congress’s Lok Sabha Poll Predictions

New Delhi - Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri raised questions on the Congress party’s predictions for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls during a press conference held in the capital today.

Puri referred to senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent statement where Kharge predicted that the India alliance would secure 295 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Puri dismissed these claims as ‘Mungerilal ke sunehre sapne’, a popular Hindi phrase used to denote unrealistic dreams.

“The Congress party is hopeful of securing 300 seats when they are contesting only 328 seats. Even if their strike rate is 80%, they won’t be able to reach the 300 mark,” Puri said, questioning the mathematical feasibility of Kharge’s prediction.

The Union Minister’s comments have added a new dimension to the political discourse surrounding the Lok Sabha polls. As the election dates draw closer, the war of words between the ruling party and the opposition continues to intensify.

It remains to be seen how the Congress party responds to Puri’s remarks and whether their electoral performance will match their optimistic predictions.
