Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a recent statement, criticized the INDI alliance’s proposal for a rotational Prime Ministerial position. He stated, “This country paid the price of instability for 3 decades, unstable governments ran for 3 decades but in the last 10 years the country has got a strong leadership, it has got stability. Not only political stability, there has also been stability regarding policies and development programs.”

Shah further added, “Now if the INDI alliance says that Sharad Pawar will be elected (PM) for one year, Mamata ji will be elected for one year, Stalin will be elected for one year, and if anything is left then Rahul ji will be elected. This is not how the country is run…”

The Union Home Minister’s comments come in the wake of the INDI alliance’s proposal for a rotational Prime Ministerial position among its key leaders. The proposal has been met with mixed reactions from various quarters, with some lauding it as a democratic move, while others, like Shah, criticizing it for potentially leading to political instability.

Shah emphasized the importance of strong leadership and political stability in the country’s development. He credited the last decade’s strong leadership for the stability in policies and development programs.

The INDI alliance’s proposal and Shah’s subsequent criticism have sparked a fresh debate on the country’s political future and the nature of its leadership. As the country braces for the upcoming elections, these discussions are expected to intensify.
