In a significant political development, Tajinder Singh Bittu, a long-standing member of the Congress party, announced his decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bittu, who has spent almost 35 years in the Congress party, cited deviation from core issues as the primary reason for his shift.

“I have spent almost 35 years in the Congress party and today I feel that the Congress Party has deviated from the issues,” Bittu said in a statement. He refrained from speaking against anyone in particular but expressed his disappointment with the current state of affairs in the party.

Bittu’s decision comes at a time when the political landscape of Punjab is witnessing significant changes. His move to the BJP is seen as a major shift, given his long association with the Congress party.

In his statement, Bittu emphasized his commitment to the betterment of Punjab. “For the betterment of Punjab, I joined BJP,” he stated, indicating his belief that his new political alignment would enable him to work more effectively for the welfare of the state.

The BJP welcomed Bittu into the party fold, expressing confidence that his experience and commitment would strengthen the party’s efforts in Punjab.

As the political scenario continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how Bittu’s decision will impact the dynamics of Punjab politics and the Congress party’s strategies in the state.
