In a recent address in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the guiding role of the Indian Constitution in the nation’s journey towards progress. This year, India will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its Constitution, a milestone that PM Modi highlighted as a testament to the country’s democratic resilience.

“Our Constitution is our guiding light,” said PM Modi, emphasizing the foundational role of the Constitution in shaping India’s democratic ethos and guiding its socio-economic development. The Constitution, adopted on 26th November 1949, encapsulates the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, and has been the bedrock of India’s democratic governance.

This year, as India marks seven decades of its Constitution, PM Modi underscored the need for collective efforts towards realizing the vision of a ‘viksit’ or developed Bharat. “We will work with all states and work hard towards becoming ‘viksit Bharat’,” he stated.

The call for a ‘viksit Bharat’ is not just about economic growth. It encompasses a holistic vision of development that includes social justice, environmental sustainability, educational empowerment, and technological advancement. It is about creating an inclusive society where every citizen has the opportunity to realize their potential.

As India stands on the cusp of celebrating 70 years of its Constitution, PM Modi’s words serve as a reminder of the path that lies ahead. The journey towards a ‘viksit Bharat’ is a collective one, requiring the concerted efforts of all states and every citizen.

In the spirit of the Constitution, let us all strive towards this vision of a developed, inclusive, and prosperous Bharat. As we look forward to the future, let the guiding light of our Constitution lead us towards a ‘viksit Bharat’ that we can all be proud of.
