New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has directed the immediate implementation of revised toll rates at all entry points into the national capital, signaling a swift move to enforce updated user charges across the city.

According to officials, the new toll structure has been put into effect without delay, indicating the civic body’s urgency in streamlining revenue collection and improving toll management systems. The revised rates will apply across all applicable toll plazas under MCD’s jurisdiction.

The decision is part of a broader effort to strengthen financial resources for civic infrastructure and ensure smoother operations at Delhi’s borders. Authorities believe the updated toll rates could also contribute to better traffic regulation and more efficient management of vehicular movement entering the city.

The move comes amid ongoing reforms in Delhi’s toll collection system, including plans for advanced technologies such as automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and barrier-free tolling, aimed at reducing congestion and improving commuter experience.

While detailed changes in the toll rates were not immediately specified, the development is expected to impact daily commuters, transport operators, and logistics services entering Delhi, potentially increasing travel costs.

The latest directive reflects MCD’s continued push toward modernising toll infrastructure while ensuring steady revenue generation for urban development projects.
