New Delhi, India - Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has announced that the government is making significant strides in agriculture, farmer welfare, and rural development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“There is continuity. Better work in the last 10 years and in our manifesto, whether it is farmer welfare or rural development, we have prepared a roadmap for it and we will take these works forward,” said Chouhan.

The Union Minister emphasized that the government’s priority is farmer welfare. This commitment was demonstrated today when the Prime Minister signed the first file, a decision taken by the cabinet to release the Kisan Samman Nidhi.

The Kisan Samman Nidhi is a government initiative that provides income support to all landholding farmer families across the country, with cultivable land, to supplement their financial needs for procuring various inputs related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs.

This announcement underscores the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and developing rural areas, a key focus of their manifesto. The roadmap prepared by the government outlines their strategy for achieving these goals.

The government’s focus on farmer welfare and rural development is expected to boost agricultural productivity and improve the quality of life in rural areas. This is a significant step towards achieving the government’s goal of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.

The Union Minister’s statement reaffirms the government’s commitment to its manifesto and its dedication to improving the lives of farmers and rural communities across the country.
