The Delhi High Court has dismissed a plea from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the ongoing Excise Policy case. The court's decision has sparked a fresh wave of political commentary and calls for Kejriwal's resignation.

In response to the court's ruling, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj stated, "The Delhi High Court has reaffirmed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was involved in receiving kickbacks related to the Delhi Excise Policy. The court has upheld the legality of his arrest and confirmed that the central agencies have substantial evidence to justify their actions."

Swaraj's comments came after the High Court ruled that Kejriwal’s arrest was lawful and supported by adequate material from the central agencies. The case, which has drawn significant public and political attention, involves allegations that Kejriwal and other officials were implicated in financial irregularities connected to the Delhi government's excise policy.

With the court ruling in favor of the legality of the arrest, Swaraj has called on Kejriwal to step down from his position as Delhi Chief Minister, citing a lack of moral authority to continue in office. She argued that the serious nature of the allegations and the court's confirmation of the arrest's legality undermine Kejriwal’s legitimacy as the city's leader.

The development is expected to intensify the ongoing political debate surrounding the case and could influence public opinion and future legal proceedings. As the situation unfolds, both the Delhi government and the opposition will likely continue to scrutinize the implications of the court's decision and the broader impact on Delhi's political landscape.
