Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Thursday said that the government is committed to celebrating all festivals with equal enthusiasm, reflecting the city’s rich cultural harmony and unity. Speaking at the Dev Deepawali celebrations, Mishra highlighted the inclusive approach of the government in marking every major festival, regardless of religion or community.

“We are celebrating all festivals. Hindu New Year was organised, Garba and Dandiya were organised on Navratri, Diwali was organised, Chhath was organised, and today, Dev Deepawali is being organised by the government,” Mishra said, addressing the gathering.

He added that these celebrations go beyond rituals, serving as a medium to strengthen social bonds and promote communal harmony. “People from all sections of society are united together,” he said, emphasising the spirit of togetherness that defines Delhi’s festive atmosphere.

Dev Deepawali, also known as the ‘Festival of Lights of the Gods,’ is celebrated on the full moon day of Kartik month, marking the victory of light over darkness. This year, the Delhi government organised grand festivities featuring traditional lamps, cultural performances, and devotional music, drawing large participation from residents across the city.

Officials said such initiatives are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural inclusivity and preserve India’s vibrant traditions within the national capital.
