Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized her government’s commitment to cleaning the Yamuna River, stating that desilting of drains is actively underway and being carried out in a systematic, time-bound manner.

"The work of cleaning Yamuna is going on. We are desilting the drains; hundreds of officials and a large number of machines are working on the ground. Work is happening across the city," Gupta said.

The initiative is part of a broader environmental push to restore the health of the Yamuna, one of Delhi’s most crucial and polluted rivers. With visible efforts on the ground and increased manpower, the government aims to achieve substantial progress before the monsoon season. The CM reiterated her administration’s focus on results and accountability, ensuring that cleanup operations are transparent, efficient, and sustained.
