Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal: A Chief Minister Behind Bars

New Delhi, India - In a recent statement, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his actions related to his ongoing legal case. Trivedi stated, “Arvind Kejriwal is the only Chief Minister in the history of India who has not resigned even after going to jail.”

Kejriwal’s Legal Troubles

Kejriwal was arrested in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the excise policy case. Despite his arrest, Kejriwal has refused to step down from his position as Chief Minister. He was released on interim bail, allowing him to continue his election campaign. However, Trivedi criticized Kejriwal’s campaign tactics, stating that he is conducting a “meaningless and misleading campaign about his case.”

The Money Trail

Trivedi pointed out that the money trail in Kejriwal’s case has been accepted by the High Court and the Supreme Court on many occasions. This acceptance of the money trail is the reason why Kejriwal is in jail. The case pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which was later scrapped. The Enforcement Directorate claims that AAP leaders received kickbacks worth ₹ 100 crore in the excise policy.

Allegations in Goa

Trivedi also brought up allegations related to the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) campaign in Goa. He claimed that all AAP candidates in Goa admitted that they received money in cash. The ED has accused the AAP of diverting Rs. 45 crore from the Delhi scam to fund their campaign for the 2022 Goa Assembly elections.

Trivedi’s Final Words

In his final remarks, Trivedi likened Kejriwal to a “playback singer of this liquor scam, corruption case.” He suggested that while Kejriwal may not be the face of the corruption, he is orchestrating everything from behind the scenes.

As the legal proceedings continue, the political landscape in Delhi remains tense. With the Chief Minister behind bars and the opposition seizing the opportunity to criticize, the future of Delhi’s leadership hangs in the balance.
