Delhi BJP President Accuses Arvind Kejriwal of Corruption

In a recent statement, Virendraa Sachdeva, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi, has made serious allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of corruption and claimed that the Chief Minister and his associates have “looted Delhi”.

Allegations Against Kejriwal

Sachdeva’s accusations stem from the ongoing investigation into the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22. The policy, which was later scrapped, has been the subject of controversy and legal scrutiny. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) alleges that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders received kickbacks worth Rs 100 crore in the excise policy.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED in connection with this case. Sachdeva has used this as a basis for his allegations, stating, “Today, Arvind Kejriwal has admitted that he is an ‘experienced thief’… If there was no scam in the liquor policy then Arvind Kejriwal should explain why Manish Sisodia is in jail for 1.5 years. Why did he go to judicial custody…”

Manish Sisodia’s Arrest

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, was also arrested in connection with the same case. He was taken into custody after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped liquor sales policy. Sisodia has been in jail for over a year.

Kejriwal’s Response

In response to the allegations and his arrest, Kejriwal has claimed that the liquor scam is “fake” and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi admitted there’s no evidence in the liquor policy case. He has also called for the release of all individuals detained in connection with the case.

Conclusion

The allegations made by Sachdeva have added another layer of complexity to the political landscape in Delhi. As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how these allegations will impact the AAP’s governance and reputation in the capital.
