New Delhi - A recent statement by Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, has sparked controversy and heated political debate. Pitroda’s comment that “People in East look like Chinese, in South, look like Africans…” has been met with widespread criticism for its racial overtones.

BJP leader Anil Antony was quick to respond, expressing his disappointment in Pitroda’s remarks. “Mr. Pitroda’s statement is definitely disappointing,” Antony said. “It is with clear racial overtones and in poor taste.”

Antony also pointed out that Pitroda is a core advisor to Rahul Gandhi, implying that his views may reflect those of the Congress party leadership. “These kinds of statements from the high-positioned leaders in the Congress party, once again make it very clear to the people of India that in this election they should choose BJP-led NDA under the leadership of PM Modi,” Antony added.

Antony further criticized the Congress party’s view of India as an “artificial construct” brought together by various tribes. He contrasted this with the BJP’s view of India as a civilizational country. “We in the BJP recognize the fact that we are a civilizational country and we are reclaiming it,” he said.

This incident has added fuel to the already heated political climate in India, with the upcoming elections drawing nearer. It remains to be seen how this controversy will impact the electoral choices of the Indian populace.
