BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Congress party over an alleged assault on Swati Maliwal, a female Rajya Sabha MP.

Poonawalla likened the situation to the mythological incident of Draupadi’s ‘cheerharan’, stating, “‘Sheeshmahal’ has become ‘Shoshanmahal’ and just like Draupadi’s ‘cheerharan’ took place, Kejriwal was witness to assault and violence on Swati Maliwal.”

He criticized Kejriwal for his silence and alleged diversion of the issue. “When the question is asked, Kejriwal doesn’t have the courage to answer, he diverts it and puts the issue on Sanjay Singh and Sanjay Singh talking about all the issues except the main issue,” Poonawalla said.

He further questioned Kejriwal’s role in the incident, asking, “Why is Kejriwal silent, why is he protecting Bibhav Kumar which means he is behind the assault, not Bibhav Kumar.”

Poonawalla also called out the silence of the INDI alliance members, Priyanka Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, on the issue. “Where are the INDI alliance members, Priyanka Vadra, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi? Silent on a woman issue,” he questioned.

This statement has intensified the political discourse around the alleged assault incident. The response from Kejriwal and the Congress party is eagerly awaited.
