BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal Slams Mallikarjun Kharge Over Remarks on Military Operations

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has criticized Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge for his recent comments related to India's military operations, accusing him of politicizing national security.

Khandelwal stated, “It is clear now that Mallikarjun Kharge wants to do politics on this issue. Our DGMO has addressed the media twice, clearly explaining what happened. Yet, Kharge ignored the fact that Indian forces destroyed the enemy country’s air defence system in just 23 minutes. Somehow, I smell politics in this.”

Expressing disappointment, Khandelwal added, “Such irresponsible statements cannot be expected from a senior leader like Kharge.” His remarks come amid heightened political sensitivity following the cross-border response under Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Armed Forces executed a precision counter-attack against terrorist infrastructure.

Meanwhile, on the development front, a 71-kilometre railway corridor connecting Kerala and Tamil Nadu is being transformed into a high-capacity transport spine. With doubling work already underway on the existing single line, a third track is also proposed. This corridor serves as a vital link for thousands of daily commuters and holds strategic potential for cargo transport and international trade.

Railway officials say the expansion will not only improve regional mobility but also help manage future freight operations, making it a key infrastructural investment in South India’s economic connectivity.
