BJP Leader Accuses Congress of Insulting Adivasi Community

Delhi - BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has stirred up a controversy with his recent tweet featuring Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren. Poonawalla accused the Congress party of disrespecting the Adivasi community, stating, “Today, it is very clear that ‘Congress ki pehchaan, Adiwasi samaj ka apmaan’”.

Poonawalla’s tweet comes in the wake of a public event where he alleges that Rahul Gandhi insulted Champai Soren, who hails from the Adivasi community. This incident, according to Poonawalla, is not an isolated one. He pointed out that the Congress party had previously voted against Droupadi Murmu, another prominent Adivasi leader who was made the President by the NDA and PM Modi.

In contrast, Poonawalla praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his respect towards the Adivasi community. He highlighted how PM Modi celebrated Birsa Munda, a revered Adivasi freedom fighter, and appointed Droupadi Murmu as the President.

The BJP leader’s comments have sparked a heated debate on social media, with many criticizing the Congress party for their alleged disregard for the Adivasi community. However, the Congress party has yet to respond to these allegations.

This incident underscores the ongoing political tension in India, particularly around issues of caste and community representation. As the country continues to grapple with these complex issues, the role of political leaders in fostering respect and understanding among diverse communities remains crucial.
