Union Home Minister Amit Shah, presiding over the flag-in ceremony of the second Mountaineering Expedition 'Vijay' organized by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), delivered significant announcements aimed at boosting morale and recognition for the NDRF personnel.

Addressing the gathering at the event, Minister Shah began by sharing positive news regarding enhanced benefits for NDRF personnel. "I want to give you a good news. For a long time, there was a demand for increasing the Risk and Hardship Allowance for the NDRF personnel. Just yesterday, GoI has approved it and the Risk and Hardship Allowance will be given to you at the rate of 40%," announced Minister Shah to a round of applause from the audience comprising over 16,000 NDRF rescue personnel.

This increase in the Risk and Hardship Allowance is expected to significantly benefit NDRF personnel who often operate under challenging and hazardous conditions during disaster response missions across the country.

Minister Shah further highlighted the government's commitment to promoting sports and outdoor activities among Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). "We have also decided that a team of our CAPF will participate in international competitions in all national and international outdoor and indoor games," he announced, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering team spirit, fitness, and international camaraderie.

Elaborating on the roadmap for CAPF participation in sports, Minister Shah assured swift implementation. "The roadmap has been prepared and in a short time, we will take it forward," he affirmed, underlining the government's proactive approach in promoting sporting excellence among security forces.

The flag-in ceremony of the 'Vijay' Expedition, which showcased the courage and skill of NDRF personnel in mountaineering challenges, served as a platform to acknowledge their dedication and readiness in disaster response operations.

The announcements made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah underscore the government's commitment to enhancing welfare measures for NDRF personnel and promoting sports excellence within CAPF. These initiatives are poised to elevate the capabilities and morale of the forces while recognizing their invaluable contributions to national security and disaster management.
