Amidst a contentious debate surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has addressed the ongoing controversy, accusing the Congress party of evading substantive discussion and exacerbating confusion over the matter.

In a pointed statement, Minister Pradhan criticized the Congress for what he described as a reluctance to engage in constructive dialogue on the NEET issue. "Congress does not want discussion, and they are running away from it. They only want chaos, confusion, and obstacles," he remarked during a press briefing.

Highlighting recent developments, Minister Pradhan referenced the President's acknowledgment of challenges within the NEET examination process, affirming the government's readiness to address these concerns through dialogue. "On behalf of the government, I clearly said that we are ready for any kind of discussion," he asserted, emphasizing the government's commitment to resolving the issue in the best interest of students.

Addressing historical grievances, Minister Pradhan acknowledged past shortcomings but underscored recent reforms initiated under the leadership of former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan, who now heads the National Testing Agency (NTA). These reforms, aimed at improving examination processes and ensuring transparency, have been integral to addressing systemic challenges.

In a significant move, Minister Pradhan announced that the NEET-PG examination dates, which were recently deferred or canceled, will be rescheduled and announced by early next week. This decision aims to provide clarity and alleviate concerns among aspiring medical students affected by the postponements.

Moreover, Minister Pradhan highlighted legislative steps taken to address concerns related to NEET, including handing over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further scrutiny, signaling the government's proactive approach towards accountability and transparency.

As the NEET issue continues to unfold, Minister Pradhan reaffirmed the government's commitment to upholding fairness and integrity in educational assessments, ensuring that student welfare remains a top priority amidst evolving challenges.
