Ramdas Athawale Encourages Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to Join NDA or RPI Amidst Congress Resignation

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has extended an invitation to Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) or his own party, the Republican Party of India (RPI), following Chowdhury's resignation as President of the West Bengal Congress. Athawale's remarks come in response to Chowdhury's recent departure from the position amid ongoing political turbulence.

Athawale suggested that Chowdhury’s resignation is a result of internal party dynamics and his electoral defeat in West Bengal. “It is because he lost from West Bengal that he is being ignored and insulted,” Athawale said, attributing Chowdhury’s resignation to the perceived neglect and disrespect he faced within the Congress party.

The Union Minister expressed concern over the treatment of party members within Congress, noting that dissatisfaction has led to many departures. “Due to this attitude of Congress, many people have left the party and joined BJP,” Athawale remarked. He extended a personal invitation to Chowdhury, urging him to consider leaving Congress if he feels insulted and marginalized.

“If he is being insulted in Congress, then he should leave Congress. I invite him to join NDA or my party RPI,” Athawale stated, positioning both the NDA and RPI as alternative political homes for Chowdhury.

Chowdhury’s resignation marks a significant moment for Congress, reflecting the broader challenges the party faces in maintaining cohesion and addressing internal conflicts. Athawale’s offer underscores the ongoing realignments within Indian politics, with various parties seeking to capitalize on dissatisfaction within rival organizations.

Athawale’s comments also highlight the competitive nature of Indian politics, where political leaders and parties actively seek to strengthen their positions by attracting prominent figures from other parties.
