Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Meets Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Seeks Support for Health Sector

In a significant move aimed at bolstering healthcare infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda in New Delhi late last evening. The meeting focused on enhancing the state's healthcare capabilities through improved infrastructure and enhanced medical services.

Chief Minister Sukhu underscored the Himachal Pradesh government's steadfast commitment to upgrading the health sector, emphasizing the urgent need for state-of-the-art medical technologies within local hospitals. His aim is to reduce the necessity for residents to travel outside the state in search of advanced medical treatment.

"Enhancing healthcare facilities is a top priority for the Himachal Pradesh government," stated Chief Minister Sukhu during the meeting. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure across the state, aiming to provide comprehensive healthcare services closer to residents' homes.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Sukhu pressed for financial support from the Centre to expedite the completion of ongoing projects, specifically citing the Nahan, Chamba, and Hamirpur medical colleges. These projects are pivotal in expanding medical education and healthcare delivery capabilities in their respective regions.

In response to the Chief Minister's appeals, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda assured Himachal Pradesh of all possible assistance from the central government. Minister Nadda acknowledged the state's initiatives and reiterated the Centre's commitment to supporting Himachal Pradesh in its healthcare endeavors.

"The Centre is committed to working closely with Himachal Pradesh to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and ensure quality medical services for all," stated Union Minister Nadda following the meeting.
