Former Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai Alleges Scam in Valmiki Board Funds, Opposition Protests

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai has made startling allegations regarding financial irregularities in the Valmiki Board, which was established for the welfare of the SC/ST community. Mr. Bommai revealed that a staggering Rs 187 crores intended for the board has allegedly been misappropriated, with funds reportedly transferred to 'benaami' (anonymous) accounts.

Addressing the media in Delhi today, Mr. Basavaraj Bommai accused those involved in the scam of exploiting funds meant for the socio-economic upliftment of the SC/ST community. He expressed grave concern over the misuse of public funds, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind these allegations.

"The Valmiki Board, which is tasked with supporting the SC/ST community, has been embroiled in a massive scam amounting to Rs 187 crores. This money has been transferred to 'benaami' accounts," Mr. Bommai stated, highlighting the severity of the issue.

In response to these revelations, opposition parties have announced their intention to stage a protest strike today, demanding accountability and transparency in the utilization of public funds allocated for welfare schemes. The opposition's stance reflects growing concerns over governance and financial integrity in public institutions.
