New Delhi: BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has escalated tensions in the Lok Sabha by filing a formal notice against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of making misleading statements during a recent parliamentary session. Swaraj's notice comes in response to Gandhi's remarks where he allegedly misrepresented facts about the Agniveer scheme and Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.

Addressing the media outside Parliament, Bansuri Swaraj criticized Rahul Gandhi's statements as "completely wrong and misleading." She clarified, "Yesterday, the Leader of Opposition made inappropriate statements in the House. He falsely claimed that there is no compensation under the Agniveer scheme. In reality, if Agniveers are martyred, their families are entitled to compensation up to Rs 1 crore."

Swaraj continued to rebut Gandhi's assertions, stating, "He also claimed that the Modi government does not provide MSP to farmers, which is another falsehood. MSP has been increased by more than 100% in some crops under our government." She accused Gandhi of intentionally misleading the House with his remarks.

"For us, the farmers of the country are like God," Swaraj asserted emphatically. "Neither the BJP nor the BJP government has ever referred to any farmer as a terrorist."

The notice filed by Bansuri Swaraj has stirred debate within political circles, with supporters of the BJP rallying behind her accusations of misinformation against the opposition leader. Critics, however, argue that such notices are part of the political discourse and should be handled within the framework of parliamentary procedure.

The escalating tensions between the ruling party and the opposition highlight the challenges in maintaining decorum and factual accuracy during parliamentary debates. The BJP's stance, as articulated by Bansuri Swaraj, underscores its commitment to defending the government's policies and correcting what it perceives as misinformation.

The response from Rahul Gandhi and the opposition is eagerly anticipated, as it is expected to shape the ongoing political discourse and parliamentary conduct in the coming sessions. As India prepares for crucial legislative deliberations, the incident underscores the importance of factual accuracy and responsible discourse in shaping national policies and public opinion.
