BJP Claims Rifts in Congress Leadership as Himachal Pradesh Political Landscape Shifts

BJP leader Shahzad Poonawala has drawn attention to what he describes as a deepening rift within the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh. During a recent press conference, Poonawala asserted that the conflict is no longer confined to internal factions but has escalated to a notable division between Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Poonawala’s remarks came in response to comments made by Vikramaditya Singh, a prominent Congress leader, who praised the "Yogi model" of governance from Uttar Pradesh and suggested its implementation in Himachal Pradesh. This endorsement, according to Poonawala, has ensnared the Congress party in a web of contradictions, leading to a barrage of statements against Singh from Rahul Gandhi's camp.

“The Congress party is prioritizing vote bank interests over the public good,” Poonawala claimed, highlighting the party’s internal discord. He noted that despite the backlash from Rahul Gandhi's faction, Singh and his ministerial ally, Dhani Ram Shandil, have stood firm in their support for the 'Yogi model'.

Poonawala pointed out that this defiance underscores a significant divide within Congress, with the Priyanka camp seemingly unyielding in their stance. “Even after continuous reprimands, they are asserting their position, indicating a fracture in leadership cohesion,” he stated.

As the political climate intensifies in Himachal Pradesh, the BJP is keen to capitalize on this perceived disarray within Congress, framing it as a struggle for leadership and direction. The situation raises questions about the Congress party's unity and its implications for upcoming electoral battles in the region.

Political analysts are closely watching the unfolding dynamics as both parties prepare for the challenges ahead, with the potential for further internal disputes within Congress to shape the electoral landscape in Himachal Pradesh.
