On Friday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had a significant meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the national capital. The two leaders discussed various aspects related to the state’s welfare and development. Rajnath Singh expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, stating, “Had a wonderful meeting with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Chandrababu Naidu Garu, in New Delhi today.”

Earlier in the day, CM Naidu also engaged in discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, where they possibly explored further collaboration on Andhra Pradesh’s economic development.

This meeting comes ahead of the much-awaited full budget of the central government for 2024-25, which is likely to be tabled later this month. During his visit to Delhi, CM Naidu also met with other prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Cabinet ministers.

The fiscal situation in Andhra Pradesh remains a concern, with committed expenses exceeding revenue receipts. CM Naidu highlighted the challenges faced by the state due to the unscientific and unfair bifurcation in 2014. He expressed confidence that under PM Modi’s leadership, Andhra Pradesh would re-emerge as a powerhouse among states.
