Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey has weighed in on the controversy sparked by Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara’s comments on the overlap between Holi and Jumma prayers, while also addressing recent remarks from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

Commenting on Mayor Ara's statement, Dubey said, "Jumma happens every week, but Holi is celebrated only once a year. If anyone has any objection to Holi festivities, they should practice Jumma at home." His statement came in response to the Mayor’s controversial remarks, which many have interpreted as an attempt to disrupt the celebrations of the major Hindu festival.

Dubey’s remarks emphasized the cultural and religious significance of Holi for millions of Hindus across the country, urging individuals to show understanding and respect towards such national celebrations. He further suggested that the focus should be on maintaining communal harmony and mutual respect between different faiths, especially during festive times.

Addressing RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s comments on the issue, Dubey dismissed them, stating, "His statements have no significance. Everyone has the right to celebrate their festivals." Dubey's comments reflect a firm stance on religious freedom and inclusivity, particularly in light of ongoing debates about festival observances and community interactions in the country.

The issue has sparked a wider discussion about respecting cultural and religious practices and fostering unity, with political leaders from various parties offering their perspectives. As the debate continues, Dubey’s comments serve as a reminder of the importance of balancing religious expression with societal harmony.
