Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Monday addressed concerns surrounding the Waqf Amendment Act, urging citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation being spread by certain groups.

“The public should be alert to these types of people who try to mislead. All these people are spreading rumours,” Meghwal stated, emphasizing that there is a concerted effort to misinform the public about the intent and provisions of the Act.

Reiterating the BJP’s stance, Meghwal said, “We, the leaders of the BJP, have taken up the responsibility of explaining to the public what this Act is, and our party people are doing this work of elaborating to the public about this Act.”

The Waqf Amendment Act has sparked debates in various parts of the country, with some voices expressing concern over its impact on religious institutions and properties. The BJP has maintained that the amendments aim to improve transparency and ensure proper use of Waqf properties for the welfare of the community.

Meghwal’s statement adds to the party’s ongoing outreach efforts to clarify the government’s intent and counter opposition narratives surrounding the legislation.
