BJP leader Raja Iqbal Singh has been elected as the new Mayor of Delhi. Expressing gratitude to the people of the city and party members, Singh said he is honored to receive the opportunity to serve the public and is committed to improving civic life in the national capital.

In his first remarks after assuming office, Singh emphasized that his administration will focus on critical civic issues, especially cleanliness and infrastructure. "We will clean the streets and drains of Delhi and ensure there is no waterlogging," he said. Highlighting past shortcomings, he stated that no substantial development had been carried out in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) over the last two-and-a-half years, and the capital had seen little progress over the past decade.

Singh pledged a fresh start with a strong emphasis on development and citizen welfare, setting the tone for an active tenure. His leadership comes at a time when residents have increasingly demanded better municipal services, especially during monsoon-related waterlogging and sanitation issues. The new mayor’s priorities suggest an aggressive push toward visible improvements in the city’s basic amenities and infrastructure.
