PM Modi Highlights India’s Startup Ecosystem at ‘Startup Mahakumbh’

New Delhi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address at the ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ held at Bharat Mandapam, emphasized the strength and potential of India’s startup ecosystem.

“India is the world’s 3rd largest startup ecosystem,” the Prime Minister declared, highlighting the country’s significant strides in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. He noted that there are over 1.25 lakh registered startups in the country, which collectively generate employment for over 12 lakh people.

The Prime Minister also drew attention to the fact that India is home to over 110 unicorns - privately held startup companies valued at over $1 billion. This is a testament to the country’s robust startup culture and the innovative spirit of its entrepreneurs.

In addition to these impressive figures, PM Modi pointed out that Indian startups have registered over 12,000 patents, underscoring the country’s commitment to intellectual property rights and innovation.

“I request all of you to get your patent as early as possible,” he urged the audience, emphasizing the importance of protecting intellectual property in the competitive global market.

The ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ event served as a platform for the Prime Minister to highlight the achievements of the Indian startup ecosystem and to encourage further innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. His speech underscored the government’s commitment to supporting startups and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India.
