Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa Accuses AAP of Looting DTC, Cites CAG Report

Delhi – Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has leveled serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of mismanagement and corruption within the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Sirsa’s comments came in the wake of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which, according to him, reveals the deterioration of DTC under AAP’s leadership.

"The CAG report has made it clear that AAP has looted DTC as well," Sirsa said, emphasizing that the DTC, which was supposed to operate around 850 routes, was only running approximately 400 routes. He pointed to the sharp decline in the corporation's revenue, stating, "Earlier, DTC used to get a revenue of Rs 900 crore, but it had reduced to Rs 550 crore."

Sirsa claimed that the AAP government attempted to suppress the CAG report, accusing them of trying to prevent the findings from being made public. "Because of this, AAP tried to stop the CAG report on DTC," he alleged, suggesting that the party was trying to cover up its alleged mismanagement. He also mentioned how AAP leaders, including Atishi, tried to avoid a discussion on the corruption issue. "When today this CAG report was presented, AAP people were running away... Atishi was saying not to have a discussion on corruption," he said.

The allegations have intensified the ongoing political battle between the AAP and the BJP in Delhi, with Sirsa’s statements highlighting the opposition’s concerns over the functioning of the Delhi government. The CAG report has become a key talking point, with opposition parties calling for accountability from the AAP government, while AAP leaders continue to deny the accusations. The controversy over the DTC’s financial management is expected to remain a significant issue in the city’s political discourse.
