Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Says Bihar’s Development Possible Only Under NDA Rule

As the political campaign for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections gains momentum, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday asserted that the state’s development is possible “only under the rule of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).”

Addressing a public gathering in Bihar, Gupta praised the awareness of the state’s electorate, especially women, stating that they clearly understand which leadership can ensure progress. “The people of Bihar, the women, everyone is alert; they know that the development of Bihar is possible only and only in the rule of NDA,” she said.

Taking a sharp dig at opposition parties, Gupta criticised their past record in governance, referring to them as “panjewale” and “lantern wale” — symbolic jibes aimed at political rivals. “These ‘panjewale’ and ‘lantern wale’ have always looted Bihar and always left the people in distress,” she said, adding that voters will not be misled this time.

Gupta’s remarks reflect the NDA’s campaign narrative focusing on stability, governance, and development, while attacking the opposition over alleged corruption and mismanagement during their past tenures.

With the election atmosphere heating up, her comments are seen as part of the NDA’s effort to consolidate voter trust and highlight its vision for a “Viksit Bihar.”
