Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a major green development initiative in Uttam Nagar, where a 50-acre plot of land previously under encroachment will be transformed into a beautiful public park. The land, belonging to the Flood and Irrigation Department, had remained unused for years due to unauthorized occupation.

“This land was lying encroached and unutilized for a long time,” Gupta said. “Now, we have taken the decision to reclaim it and develop it into one of the most beautiful parks in the area.”

The announcement marks a significant step toward enhancing urban green spaces in Delhi. The upcoming park is expected to serve as a recreational and ecological hub for residents, providing much-needed relief from the city's congestion and pollution.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the initiative is part of the government’s broader mission to reclaim public land and use it for community welfare. The park will also contribute to environmental sustainability and offer facilities for fitness, leisure, and cultural activities.

Residents of Uttam Nagar and surrounding areas have welcomed the move, viewing it as a long-overdue transformation that will improve quality of life and neighborhood aesthetics.
