BJP’s Manan Kumar Mishra Criticises Rahul Gandhi Over EC March, Says Allegations Lack Proof

Reacting to the INDIA bloc leaders’ march to the Election Commission (EC) today, BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra took aim at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of making baseless claims without offering evidence.

“Whatever Rahul Gandhi has said, citing the Constitution, I will say that he should read the Constitution properly,” Mishra remarked, alleging that Gandhi’s statements are “all in the air” and unsupported by proof or affidavit. He asserted that the ongoing protest would not find a place in parliamentary discussions, as the matter falls strictly under the EC’s jurisdiction.

Mishra further stated that any procedural corrections, if needed, are addressed through the established SIR (Special Investigation or Inquiry) process. “No matter how much Rahul Gandhi protests, it will not be discussed in the Parliament because this is a matter for the Election Commission, and it will not go to Parliament to answer,” he emphasised.

Highlighting what he described as disorganisation within the opposition’s approach, Mishra noted that the EC had asked the INDIA bloc to select 30 members to meet and present their concerns. “They were not able to do that either,” he pointed out.

The remarks come as tensions between the ruling BJP and opposition INDIA bloc continue to rise over electoral issues, with the EC at the centre of the latest political standoff.
