BJP’s Gaurav Bhatia Slams Rahul Gandhi Over EC Allegations, Calls Claims ‘Baseless’

New Delhi: Responding to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on the Election Commission (EC), BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia launched a sharp counterattack, accusing the Congress party of repeatedly making unfounded allegations without evidence.

Bhatia alleged that the Congress resorts to blaming institutions and systems whenever it faces electoral defeats. “The Congress party is involved in scams. They lose elections. When they lose, they have to blame someone—sometimes EVMs, sometimes VVPATs, sometimes the Election Commission, and at times even the public,” he said.

He further criticised Gandhi for what he termed as a pattern of “baseless accusations” made through the media. “If you want a remedy under the law, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, I must remind you that India is governed by the rule of law and the Constitution. There are proper procedures to raise complaints, and a formal complaint must be filed,” Bhatia said.

Highlighting what he described as a lack of accountability, the BJP spokesperson noted that when constitutional bodies demand proof, the Congress leadership allegedly fails to provide it. “When you make allegations and then refuse to give evidence, it is nothing but an attempt to mislead the people and undermine democratic institutions,” he asserted.

The remarks come amid heightened political sparring between the BJP and Congress, with both sides trading accusations over transparency and fairness in electoral processes.
