New Delhi - In a recent statement, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra addressed the issue of bank account freezing, stating that defaulters would be treated as such, regardless of their status or position.

Patra said, “As far as bank account freezing is concerned if you are a defaulter, you will be treated like one.” He further criticized the Gandhi family, implying that they had a sense of entitlement, believing that they would not be subject to the same laws as other citizens if they were defaulters.

“The sense of entitlement that the Gandhi family had that even if we were a defaulter, provisions of the law of this country would not apply to us,” Patra stated. He declared that this era of entitlement is now over under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This statement comes amidst ongoing discussions about financial accountability and the enforcement of banking laws in India. It underscores the BJP’s stance on the issue, emphasizing that no individual, regardless of their political or social standing, is above the law.

Patra’s comments have sparked a renewed debate on the issue of financial defaulters and the actions taken against them. It remains to be seen how these statements will impact the ongoing discourse on financial accountability in India.
