Delhi - BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has criticized Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s recent remarks about Hema Malini, calling it a new low in Indian politics. Trivedi accused the Congress party of disrespecting and demeaning the dignity of women.

Trivedi contrasted the Congress party’s attitude towards women with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who named the south pole of the moon as the ‘Shiv-Shakti’ point, marking India’s first lunar landing. He said, “On one side, there is PM Modi who named the south pole of the moon where India became the first country to land as the ‘Shiv-Shakti’ point and on the other side it’s Congress and their statements about women.”

Trivedi further stated that Surjewala’s comments were not an isolated incident but reflected a “structured and well-thought-of dastardly mindset of the Congress party regarding the dignity of women.”

He also highlighted the achievements of Hema Malini, who is of the same age as Sonia Gandhi, describing her as a symbol of self-made women in post-independence India.

The BJP MP’s comments have sparked a debate about the treatment of women in Indian politics, with many calling for more respect and equality.
