BJP MP Manoj Tiwari Defends Kangana Ranaut, Criticizes Congress Leader’s Remarks

NEW DELHI: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has come out in defense of Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate from Mandi, following a post by Congress leader Supriya Shrinate. Tiwari expressed his surprise at the Congress party’s attitude towards women and artists.

“There is a difference between real and reel life. In reel life, an artist has to play multiple roles,” Tiwari said, emphasizing the distinction between an actor’s on-screen persona and their real-life identity.

The BJP MP’s comments come in response to a social media post by Congress leader Supriya Shrinate. While the specifics of Shrinate’s post were not disclosed, it was clear that it pertained to Kangana Ranaut, a prominent Bollywood actress who recently entered politics as a BJP candidate.

Tiwari criticized the Congress party for its alleged disrespect towards women and artists, stating, “I am surprised that Congress has such thinking towards women and artists.” He further added, “BJP respects the artists and women of India.”

The controversy highlights the often blurred lines between the worlds of entertainment and politics in India, where film stars frequently transition into political roles. The debate also underscores the ongoing discourse on women’s representation and respect in Indian society.

As the political landscape heats up in the lead-up to the elections, it remains to be seen how these developments will influence the voters’ choices. The BJP, with its defense of Ranaut, has made it clear that it stands by its candidate and respects the contributions of artists in the country.
