BJP MP Kiran Choudhry strongly defended the Waqf Amendment Bill set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today, asserting that the bill is aimed at the upliftment of the Muslim community. In her remarks, Choudhry also criticized the opposition, particularly the Congress, accusing them of misleading the public for political gain.

"The Opposition has built a habit of misguiding people," Choudhry said, addressing the ongoing debate surrounding the bill. She emphasized that the primary goal of the legislation is to enhance the welfare of the Muslim community, particularly by ensuring the proper utilization of Waqf properties. "This bill is for the upliftment of the Muslim community," she stated, highlighting that it is in line with the government's broader vision for social empowerment.

Choudhry also took aim at Congress, suggesting that the party is motivated by political interests rather than the welfare of the people. "The Congress only thinks of political benefit," she remarked, implying that the opposition's objections to the bill are driven by partisan concerns.

Concluding her comments, Choudhry lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, asserting that the Prime Minister has the determination and willpower to amend outdated laws and guide the nation toward development. "Our Prime Minister has the willpower to amend archaic laws of our country to take our country on the path of development," she said, signaling the BJP's commitment to reforms that benefit all communities, including Muslims.

The Waqf Amendment Bill, which seeks to reform the management and use of Waqf properties, has been a topic of heated debate, with both supporters and critics offering divergent views on its potential impact. Choudhry's remarks reflect the BJP's stance that the bill is a progressive step for the country's development and social equality.
