In a recent statement, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma has expressed strong criticism of the Opposition's response to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, accusing them of fostering political instability. Sharma’s remarks came as the bill, aimed at reforming the management of Waqf properties, continues to be a contentious issue in the political arena.

"The Opposition wants that there should be instability," Sharma asserted, reflecting the BJP's frustration with the criticisms and objections raised by opposition parties regarding the bill. He further emphasized his belief that the Opposition’s stance is detrimental to the progress of the country.

Sharma also extended a more conciliatory note, saying, "I just pray that God gives wisdom to such negative-thinking Opposition so that they positively contribute to India's progress." His comments highlight the BJP’s view that constructive engagement from all parties is essential for the advancement of national policies and reforms.

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 seeks to address various issues related to the administration and management of Waqf properties, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency. However, the bill has faced resistance from opposition members who argue that it could undermine existing protections and lead to mismanagement.

As debates on the bill continue, Sharma’s comments underscore the growing political divide over its implications. The bill’s progress and the ensuing discussions are expected to remain a focal point in the current legislative session, reflecting broader tensions between the ruling party and opposition factions.
