BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has sharply criticized Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar over his recent remarks, calling them "bizarre" and an insult to the people of Bihar. The controversy erupted after Kanhaiya Kumar, who hails from Bihar, made statements suggesting that there is no need for roads in the state and questioning the motives behind the development projects being carried out in Bihar.

Kanhaiya Kumar, in his speech, reportedly claimed that "roads are being made to loot the water of Bihar" and went on to make an unusual comparison, saying "petrol does not quench thirst," which drew widespread attention and condemnation. He also made comments about the economic conditions of Bihar, suggesting that the state’s population does not have sufficient income to justify the infrastructure projects being proposed.

Responding to these statements, Shehzad Poonawalla, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accused Kanhaiya Kumar of aligning himself with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's political ideology. "What else can we expect from those people who are the followers of Rahul Gandhi?" Poonawalla remarked. "Kanhaiya Kumar is proving that his leader is Rahul Gandhi with his statements."

Poonawalla further criticized Kumar for insulting the people of Bihar, stating, "Kanhaiya Kumar has said that there is no need for roads in Bihar. He also insults the people of Bihar by saying that they have no income. These are bizarre theories that have no place in the development discourse of Bihar."

The BJP leader expressed his disbelief at the logic behind Kumar’s claims, emphasizing that infrastructure development, including roads, is crucial for the economic and social progress of Bihar. "Such statements undermine the efforts being made to bring Bihar into the mainstream of national development," Poonawalla added.

The remarks have sparked a debate about the priorities and political strategies surrounding Bihar's development. While Kanhaiya Kumar’s supporters argue that his comments reflect genuine concerns about the misuse of resources in the state, critics, including the BJP, believe the statements reflect a dismissive attitude toward Bihar’s progress.

The controversy highlights the growing political divide in Bihar, where both the ruling party and opposition are vying for the support of the electorate as the state prepares for upcoming elections. As political leaders continue to engage in heated debates over development and governance, Kanhaiya Kumar's controversial statements are sure to remain a topic of discussion in the coming weeks.
