New Delhi, India - Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, as part of a BJP delegation, met with the Election Commission today to discuss concerns over recent comments made by Arvind Kejriwal regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Mandaviya expressed disappointment over Kejriwal’s remarks about Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh following the implementation of the CAA. He described the Delhi Chief Minister’s comments as “very unfortunate.”

The BJP delegation, under the leadership of MS Sirsa, included representatives from the Sikh community. The group sought to address their concerns with the Election Commission, emphasizing the potential for such comments to create unnecessary tension and misunderstanding among the communities mentioned.

The delegation is awaiting a response from the Election Commission. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.

This incident underscores the ongoing political tensions surrounding the implementation of the CAA, and the need for clear, respectful dialogue on the issue. As India continues to grapple with these complex matters, the importance of maintaining communal harmony remains paramount.
