Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the North-East Students' and Youth Parliament organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), emphasized the importance of peace in the region and credited the Narendra Modi-led government for fostering stability and progress in the North East.

"There can be no development in a state where there is no peace, and Narendra Modi's government has worked to bring peace in the North East," Shah stated. He underlined the government’s sustained efforts in ensuring both economic and infrastructural development in the region.

Highlighting the substantial financial commitment, the Home Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated a significant budget for the North East’s development over the last decade. "In ten years, considering the North East as his own, the Prime Minister has taken care of its development so much that he has decided that every month, one minister will stay overnight in some state of the North East," he revealed, showcasing the government's dedication to the region.

Shah also compared the past and present engagement of national leadership with the North East, emphasizing Modi's frequent visits. "The total number of visits of all Prime Ministers to the North East since independence, excluding Assam, is 21. In contrast, Narendra Modi alone has visited the North East 78 times, which shows how much importance has been given to the region," he stated.

The Home Minister’s remarks highlight the government’s intent to integrate the North East more closely with the national mainstream through enhanced connectivity, infrastructure, and political attention. His address reaffirmed the Modi administration’s vision of a developed and peaceful North East, ensuring long-term progress for the region.
