Amid rising regional tensions and the ongoing security challenges linked to #OperationSindoor, Vice Admiral AN Pramod outlined the Indian Navy’s advanced readiness and layered defence mechanisms aimed at countering diverse aerial threats.

“Effectively using multiple sensors and inputs, we are maintaining continuous surveillance to degrade or neutralise threats as they emerge or manifest, to ensure targeting at extended ranges,” he stated. His comments reflect the Navy's emphasis on real-time intelligence, multi-platform monitoring, and rapid-response capabilities.

Vice Admiral Pramod explained that all such efforts are carried out under a comprehensive layered fleet air defence mechanism, designed to counter various threats including drones, high-speed missiles, fighter jets, and surveillance aircraft. This integrated approach ensures swift detection and neutralisation of any aerial aggression, safeguarding India's maritime interests.

His statement reinforces India's strategic focus on multi-domain defence, combining surface, air, and electronic warfare capabilities under a unified command structure. It also highlights the Navy's expanding role in maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific amid evolving threats.
