Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Foreign Trips and Accuses Him of Criticizing India

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has delivered a strong critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, particularly targeting his recent international trips and comments. Speaking at a press conference today, Puri accused Gandhi of undermining India’s image abroad while criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in Haryana.

Puri began by expressing confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Haryana, stating, “The performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana will be very good.” He attributed the party's expected success to its effective governance and strong grassroots presence in the state.

Turning his attention to Gandhi, Puri criticized the Congress leader’s recent foreign engagements. “Rahul Gandhi is on a foreign trip. He should remember that he is now the leader of the opposition,” Puri said. He highlighted a perceived contradiction in Gandhi’s actions, pointing out that while Gandhi advocates for national unity through his “Bharat Jodo” campaign, he simultaneously uses international platforms to criticize India and its institutions.

Puri went further to allege that Gandhi has “very deep relations with China,” suggesting that Gandhi’s international activities may be influenced by or aligned with foreign interests. This accusation adds a new layer to the ongoing political debate, with Puri implying that Gandhi’s criticisms could be driven by external motivations rather than purely domestic concerns.

The comments from Puri reflect the ongoing political tension between the BJP and Congress, with leaders from both parties frequently engaging in public disputes over national and international issues. Puri’s statements are expected to resonate strongly with BJP supporters and could further fuel the political discourse as India approaches upcoming elections and continues to grapple with key national and international issues.

Gandhi’s international presence and his approach to domestic criticism remain contentious topics in Indian politics, and Puri’s remarks are likely to add to the growing debate over the role and conduct of political leaders on the global stage.
