Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India’s defence actions are guided by the principle followed by Lord Hanuman during his mission to Ashok Vatika. Referring to the approach of responding only to those who attacked first, Singh stated, “Jinh mohi maara, tinh mohi maare,” meaning "We only strike those who strike us first."

Speaking in Delhi, the Defence Minister explained that India does not believe in aggression but in protecting its people. He emphasized that the country's military targets only those who harm innocent civilians. Singh made it clear that India’s defence policy is based on fairness and restraint, not revenge or violence.

He added that the Indian Armed Forces are fully capable of responding to any threat but always act responsibly. The minister's comments come amid ongoing discussions around national security and India's approach to cross-border terrorism.

By invoking Lord Hanuman's values, Singh aimed to underline the moral strength behind India’s military decisions. He said India will never attack without reason, but if provoked, it will respond strongly and precisely.

The statement reflects the government’s effort to assure citizens that national security is handled with both courage and wisdom, ensuring peace while protecting the nation from harm.
