New Delhi, April 13, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ at Vigyan Bhawan today, bringing together women achievers and influential voices from across diverse sectors.

Focus on Women-Led Development

Scheduled to begin at 11 AM, the national-level programme aims to spotlight the growing role of women in shaping India’s development journey. The Sammelan will feature participation from leaders in governance, academia, science, sports, entrepreneurship, and social work, reflecting the expanding footprint of women across key domains.

Backdrop of Women’s Reservation Law

The event comes in the context of the landmark Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, passed in September 2023, which mandates 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies.

With a crucial Parliament session scheduled for April 16 to deliberate on its implementation, the Sammelan is expected to strengthen the narrative around women’s political participation and leadership.

Driving Vision of Viksit Bharat 2047

The programme will also underline the government’s commitment to women-led development as a cornerstone of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, promoting leadership opportunities for women at every level—from grassroots Panchayats to the national Parliament.
