Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has responded strongly to the opposition's critique of the Ladli Behna Yojana, asserting that the initiative has proven to be a resounding success. Speaking at a press conference, Shinde dismissed the claims that the program is merely an election gimmick, describing the opposition’s stance as an ongoing campaign of misinformation.

"The opposition has been opposing the Ladli Behna Yojana since day one," Shinde stated. "They claimed the scheme was flawed and merely an election 'jumla'. They even took legal action against it out of fear, as the program has become a superhit among the public."

The Ladli Behna Yojana, aimed at empowering women through financial assistance, has been a focal point in Maharashtra's political landscape. Critics argue that the initiative is a populist measure designed to garner votes ahead of upcoming elections. In contrast, Shinde highlighted the government’s commitment to delivering on its promises, challenging the opposition to show what they achieved during their tenure in the past two and a half years.

"Ours is a government which provides. We do what we say," he emphasized. "I challenge them to show us what they did in 2.5 years. The public will decide, and they have already made up their minds that Mahayuti will form the government once again with full majority."

The CM's remarks come amid heightened political tensions as parties gear up for the upcoming elections. The Ladli Behna Yojana continues to draw mixed reactions, with supporters lauding its impact on women’s empowerment, while detractors question its sustainability and timing.

As the political landscape evolves, the future of the Ladli Behna Yojana and its implications for the Maharashtra government remain to be seen, with the public's response set to play a crucial role in the upcoming electoral battle.
