BJP MLA Shikha Roy has hit back at TMC MP Mahua Moitra and AAP Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj over their remarks concerning alleged BJP interference in fish markets near a temple in CR Park, dismissing the accusations as politically motivated and unfounded.

Responding to Moitra’s tweet, where she alleged that BJP leaders threatened fish vendors to shut down shops near a temple, Roy said, “As a responsible MP, nobody could have done more cheap or low-grade politics than her. Mahua Moitra—don’t use our area for your Bengal politics.”

She also took aim at Saurabh Bharadwaj, who commented in support of Moitra’s claim, stating, “Saurabh Bharadwaj is looking at it as an opportunity to gain political benefit since he is unemployed now.”

Roy further accused Bharadwaj of hypocrisy, claiming, “He himself had campaigned once to get fish markets shut down in CR Park, but our senior leaders thwarted his attempts.”

Calling for accountability, she added, “People who level false allegations without verifying them should also be investigated.”

The remarks have intensified the political war of words in the national capital ahead of elections, with CR Park—known for its Bengali cultural influence—becoming a fresh flashpoint.
